UPDATE FROM PRZEMYŚL, POLAND #4
+
Dear Friends,
We’ve had some special moments recently which we would like to share with you.
This week we opened our Charity Center in Przemyśl. In fact, the first guests were admitted even before the place was ready: we met a family who had spent some nights at the train station and we welcomed them as best we could.
It was also very exciting to receive the first dinner delivery for the inhabitants of our center in Przemyśl!
Meanwhile, sixteen of our guests decided to take the opportunity to travel to France where some generous people wanted to welcome them.
Speaking of France, we received 500 kg of flour from the French Bakers’ Association. They were brought by Convoi de la Solidarité, the wonderful people who help us a lot and who will also deliver the baked bread to our reception center in Ustrzyki.
For our Przemyśl guests, we will use the services of the Seminary bakery, as well as the laundry room there. We have a small washing machine but now we need to acquire three or four more.
This week we also celebrated Fr. Marek’s 20th Ordination Anniversary. He spent this day as usual: busy from the early morning until the late hours of the night, traveling from one reception center to another, meeting people, and talking on the phone to those he could not meet in person. In Ustrzyki, our Ukrainian guests joined in, and of course children were most delighted to have some fun.
Fr. Marek also had a chance to meet with Fr. Leszek Kryża of the organization Aid to the Church in the East (cooperating with Polish Bishops’ Conference) who was impressed by the work we were doing. He was on his way to Ukraine with a reporter of the Polish national Catholic News Agency who decided that he would return after their visit to Ukraine and spend about a week visiting our reception centers in order to prepare a documentary.
We continue to marvel at God’s blessings coming to us from many directions.
