See you soon! A New Life in Gdańsk
Stories like this reaffirm our belief that the Foundation’s mission and everyday work truly matter. Every step toward independence, every regained sense of confidence, and every bit of strength to rebuild a life from scratch are our greatest motivation.
One of the residents of our shelter, together with her three young children, is starting a new chapter after three years of support from the Foundation and living at the shelter. Starting this week, she is beginning an independent life in Gdańsk, with a new job and a new home.
At the PFCF Shelter, we see independence as a process, and we understand support as comprehensive assistance that helps rebuild a sense of agency, provides strength to take action, and restores hope for a better future. On a daily basis, residents receive individual administrative, psychological, and informational support. Many have also found employment through work contracts with the Foundation.
We create community, foster local integration, and build opportunities. Our greatest satisfaction comes from seeing these efforts truly make a difference.
Once again — good luck in your new city, your new job, and may your regained independence bring you much joy! 💙
Thanks to the Foundation
Dear Father Marek,
Dear Administration and Staff of the Shelter,Today, as my three children and I prepare for a new stage of life in another city, my heart is filled with gratitude for these three years, which became a place of peace and support for our family.
Father Marek, please accept my sincerest thanks for opening the doors of this shelter to us. To us, you are not only a priest, but also a true example of living faith, love, and compassion. Your tireless work and willingness to help everyone are a testament to your great humanity. Thank you for standing by us during the most difficult moments and for showing us how God works through the kindness of people’s hearts.
I would also like to express special thanks to the Foundation’s administration — Director Aneta, Natalia, Ania, and Vasyl. Thank you for your professional support, your sensitivity, and your help in resolving every matter, from legal issues to everyday life challenges. You do incredibly important work by creating a place where mothers with many children can feel safe. Your support in every aspect gave me the strength to keep moving forward.
We are also deeply grateful to the cooks for creating a warm, home-like atmosphere, for the most delicious soups and the variety of meals you prepared every day with great care and love. You looked after us as if we were your own family.
We are leaving this place with sadness in our hearts, but also with great hope and many beautiful memories.
May the Lord bless you with the same goodness that you give to others.
With respect and gratitude,
Our family -Residents of the shelter, 2023–2026
